We last visited Westeros in 2024 with House of the Dragon Season 2. Queen Alicent offered surrender to Queen Rhaenyra, played by Olivia Cooke and Emma D’Arcy, respectively. In the final episode, the plot leaves no room for guessing — war is inevitable. For Rhaenyra Targaryen, there is no conquest without King Aegon’s death, played by Tom Glynn-Carney. The Dance of the Dragons is no longer preventable.
HBO has released the highly anticipated Season 3 trailer, set to premiere in June 2026.
The season will unfold across eight episodes, with Ryan Condal returning as the sole showrunner.
